Two lifelong Oregonians and the homes we wanted to stay in
A little about Marrington Vacation Rentals and the two people behind it.
How this started
We're Greg and Sarah, and we've been Oregonians our whole lives. Greg spent a long career at a global sportswear brand; Sarah's was in speech pathology. We raised our family here.
Somewhere along the way, we started creating places to go with the people we loved — a tiny cabin near the coast, a cabin at Mt. Hood, a house in Eugene — the kind of homes we wanted to stay in ourselves, with friends, family and usually a dog or two.
Over time, those homes turned into a real business. Along the way, we learned that the things we cared about most — making a place feel warm, interesting and really good to spend time in — were often the same things guests cared about too.
What we care about
We want our homes to feel thoughtful without feeling precious. Beautiful enough to notice, comfortable enough to actually live in, and connected to the places around them.
That means thinking about the big things — layout, design, furnishings and how a home fits into its setting — but also the hundred smaller decisions that shape a stay. Where the coffee lives. Whether there's somewhere comfortable to sit outside when it rains. What's on the bookshelf. Whether the kitchen actually has what you need to cook dinner.
We keep paying attention after a home is finished, too. There's always something we can make a little better.
Hands-on with all of it
We're closely involved in every part of the business — design and furnishing, positioning, photography direction, listings, pricing, guest experience and the day-to-day realities of operating vacation homes.
Our homes are Airbnb Guest Favorites, have ranked among Airbnb's top 1%, consistently earn excellent guest reviews and have outperformed AirDNA revenue projections.
Those results matter to us because they're a pretty good indication that paying attention to the details works.
What the homes have in common
The homes themselves are intentionally different — a tiny cabin near a quiet beach, a vintage cabin in the Mt. Hood woods, a reverse-living house in Manzanita, an easygoing house in Eugene and a round house coming soon.
But they share a point of view. Design matters, and so do muddy boots by the door. The kitchen is meant to be cooked in. The beds and linens are good, the coffee is good, and there's usually something interesting on the shelf or turntable.
A beautiful home and a wet trail, without anything feeling too precious. That's about the balance we're after.
Working with other owners
After years of owning and operating our own vacation rentals, we began working with other homeowners too.
We bring the same approach to the homes we manage that we use with our own: thoughtful positioning, design and amenity recommendations, active pricing and listing strategy, close attention to guest feedback, and continual adjustments to help each property perform at its best.
Greg is the main point person for homeowners, so owners have a consistent person who knows their property and stays involved.

Guests can also book our homes directly through this site. It's always the least expensive way to stay with us because you avoid the additional guest fees charged by third-party booking platforms.
Which home is best for a couple?
The Weekender in Neskowin. It's 588 square feet, built for two, with a wood stove, a private hot tub, a loft and a quiet beach a short walk away. Puffin Lane in Manzanita also works beautifully for two couples travelling together, with a king suite, a cedar hot tub and a yoga studio. The Cedar Circle will be perfect for a couple too — or, with the guest house, for two couples.
Are dogs allowed?
At The Weekender, Wildwood Basecamp and The Eugene House, yes — we travel with ours, so it was never really a question. Wildwood's fenced acre and The Eugene House's fenced backyard make it easy.
